The level of realism for hand interaction is extremely important in a haptic immersive experience. It blurs the line between virtual and reality to immerse the user even more.
The Interaction Builder is an Interhaptics’ low code plugin for 3D engines allowing you to develop realistic hand interactions within 3 clicks. The application increases the value of your virtual creations while significantly decreasing the time of development. Best used for hand-tracking and UX.
This month, two brand new features have been added to the Interaction Builder. The 2-hand interactions have been introduced on the 6th of September with this blog post. Now that you can pass an object from one hand to another, Interhaptics wanted to add another hand feature to increase even further the realism.
New feature for the Interaction Builder
The Interaction Builder new upgrade is about them snapping. Thanks to this new feature, fingers can be moved naturally when snapped to an object. It sounds simple, but it is extremely helpful in a lot of immersive experiences, from the most basic ones to the most elaborate. Haptic feedback design will be empowered with this feature, partial finger haptic will enhance the feel of touch.
As an example, in procedural VR training, it is important to bring hand and finger-interaction as close as possible to reality to increase realism and immersion of the trainee! It helps to manage attention and retention during the learning process. With those two upgrades, VR creations keep improving the realism.
These updates will be compatible with all hand-tracking devices and exoskeletons currently integrated with Interhaptics:
All standard VR controllers
