Interhaptics allows users to create haptic material, implement haptic feedback for Oculus Quest and others, hand tracking, and 3D interactions. Moreover, it allows the deployment to all XR applications cross-platform. By using the development suite, the VR experience is no longer limited by the headset that you or your clients prefer.
The Oculus Quest 1 has had a great success as an all-in-one standalone headset. Furthermore, the release of the hand tracking on the Quest made it one of the favorites in the market. It was only a matter of time before Facebook surprised us with a new VR headset that will again shake the market. The release of the Oculus Quest 2 has shown us the powerful role that hand tracking plays in the user experience. Moreover, we need to mention the great impact we get from the haptic feedback for Oculus Quest controllers. Interhaptics support all Oculus headsets including Facebook’s latest masterpiece: the Oculus Quest 2.
Haptic feedback for Oculus Quest
Interhaptics CEO Eric Vezzoli says: “The Quest is the leading virtual reality platform today, and they are investing heavily in haptics and hand interaction technologies. We are thrilled to be in the ISV program and bring value to their members”.
Indeed, in March 2020 Interhaptics joined the Oculus ISV Program and was able to play a role in the pre-release testing of the Oculus Quest 2. Considering that the focus of Interhaptics are hand tracking and haptic feedback for Oculus Quest and others, we paid more attention to these two items during the testing. All Interhaptics demos were deployed to the Oculus Quest 2 without any troubles. Furthermore, we were able to notice the Quest vast improvement in the graphical quality as well as hand tracking. Interhaptics will continue to explore and test the capability of the haptics performance on the Oculus controllers and share them within the Oculus ISV Program and Interhaptics community.
